  • What is ZestMoney?

    ZestMoney is a technology platform that facilitates EMI payment option for products purchased online or offline with our partner merchants without the need for credit card.

  • How do I apply to use ZestMoney?
    1. You can apply for a ZestMoney account from the checkout at one of our partner merchants - you can see the partner merchants here.
    2. Alternatively, you can sign up on our website and find out your credit limit. Click here to get started.

    In both cases, we will need a few basic details about you (including your employment details and income proof). Using this information, a risk analysis is performed and you will find out immediately if you have been approved.

  • Where can I purchase using ZestMoney credit?

    Click here to know our partner merchants, where you can use your ZestMoney EMI as a payment option. More merchants are added every week.

  • How do I shop using ZestMoney?

    Select a product of your choice on the merchant site. At the checkout, select ZestMoney as a payment option.
    You will be asked to make a down-payment before your product can be shipped, you will need to submit your KYC & other documents via our website - full details will be emailed to you.

  • Do I need to have a bank account to access ZestMoney services?

    Yes, you need to have an active bank account to use ZestMoney because we link your monthly repayments to it. It makes things simpler for you and us.

Documentation & Verification

  • Is a good CIBIL score required for application to be accepted?

    A variety of data sources is used to make a lending decision. One data source is a credit bureau (eg CIBIL), including your score.
    However, a credit bureau score is not mandatory so if you don’t have a CIBIL score, you may still be approved.

  • What are the eligibility criteria?

    To use ZestMoney, you must be over 18. You must be Indian resident and have a bank account & PAN card. A credit card is not mandatory.

  • What is pre-approved credit limit?

    A pre-approved credit limit is the amount of ZestMoney credit that you are eligible for, based on initial verification and credit evaluation. You can go ahead and shop with our partner merchants, and buy things costing up to the pre-approved amount.
    For example, if your pre-approved credit limit is Rs. 50,000 you can buy any item costing less than Rs. 50,000 (but not something costing Rs. 60,000)

    NOTE- You can only have one outstanding EMI at a time. Making multiple purchases with different merchants up to the credit limit is not allowed currently (coming soon…)

  • Why do I need to make a down-payment?

    A down-payment ensures that your product(s) is blocked for you while we process your ZestMoney EMI application.

  • What are the KYC documents required?

    We require 2 basic documents

    1. Proof of Identity (POI) - Any one of the following:
      • PAN card
      • Driving Licence
      • Aadhaar card
      • Photo page of passport

    2. Latest 3 months bank statement, with address

      Please make sure you use your main bank account (where you get paid). If address is not mentioned on the bank statement we require an additional document for proof of address (any one of: Address page of passport, Aadhaar card, Utility bill)
      We make it really easy for you to upload both docs on our website OR you can even login to your net banking via ZestMoney, and we will do the hard work.

  • What is NACH?

    NACH is the new word for ECS (it stands for “National Automated Clearing House” which is the way banks move money around in India).
    NACH / ECS is a mandate from you, telling your bank to make regular monthly payments on your behalf.
    Once setup, it is an easy automatic, way to make your EMI re-payments, giving you peace of mind every month.

  • Are my details secure with ZestMoney?

    Yes, your details are 100% secure with us. We use bank-level security to encrypt and protect all your sensitive data. We will definitely not sell your information to anyone.

  • How long does it take for final approval?

    Once we receive all the required documents, your ZestMoney EMI application will be reviewed in 6-8 working hours and the status will be shared with you.

  • Is PAN Card mandatory?

    Yes, currently, it is mandatory for you to have a PAN card to apply for an EMI on ZestMoney. This may change in the future.

  • Why do I need to provide my PAN number, employment and income details?

    We use your PAN card for identification purposes.
    We use your employment and income details in our risk model, the more accurate information you can give us, the more likely we are to approve your EMI.

  • I'm unable to scan and upload my documents. What can I do?

    You can take a picture of the document and email it to us as at help@zestmoney.in instead.

  • Is there a fixed salary income for the application to be accepted by ZestMoney?

    No, we do not have a fixed income requirement for accepting the EMI application. We review every application independently based on many different data points.

  • How do I make the downpayment?

    You need to select a product of your choice with any of our merchants, and on the checkout page, you will see ZestMoney EMI. On choosing to pay with ZestMoney and selecting the EMI plan, you be redirected to our payment gateway to make the downpayment.

  • Does ZestMoney decline my application after making the down-payment?

    In a very small amount of cases, an application will be declined after making the down payment. This is usually because the customer did not have the required documents or put wrong information on the original application form.
    In case your application is declined after the document check, we will initiate the complete re-fund (without any fees/charges) within 24-48 hours. The refunded amount will reflect in your account within 5-7 working days.

  • Do I have a credit limit with ZestMoney?

    Yes. Once you register on ZestMoney, you will be given a pre-approved credit limit. The amount you spend on EMI must be within that limit.

  • How many ZestMoney EMIs can I have with ZestMoney?

    At present, you can only have one EMI outstanding at a time. However, we are working to enable multiple purchases, which will be available to you soon.

  • How is ZestMoney using Perfios?

    Perfios (PERsonal FInance One Stop) is a web-based personal finance application, which helps ZestMoney to access your recent bank statements in a safe and secure manner.

  • Why do I need to fill in my banking details on Perfios?

    This is an optional service to help you provide us with your bank statements in a fast and secure manner. Alternatively, you can upload them via our secure web site.
    Perfios does not store your online banking login information - it simply passes your login credentials to your bank via a secure service linking your account. It only extracts your bank statement up to the last 6 months.

Application Rejection

  • I made the downpayment and my application was declined. Is this possible?

    Yes, in certain cases we will have to decline an application after documents have been submitted because there was a problem with the documents or the information within them did not support the information on the original application form.
    In these instances, we will initiate the complete re-fund (without any fees/charges) within 24-48 hours. The refunded amount will reflect in your account within 5-7 working days.

  • My application was rejected. What do I do now?

    We are sorry that your application was not accepted at this time. We request you to wait for 30 days, after which you can re-apply for ZestMoney EMI for a fresh review of your application.

  • Is there are any processing fee for refund?

    We do not charge any fee. If your application is declined, we refund your complete downpayment without any deductions/charges.

Zest Account Details & Eligibility

Paying your EMI

  • How do I repay my monthly EMI?

    As part of the initial account set up, we ask you to submit your bank details, which we use to create an NACH (ECS) mandate. This mandate allows us to auto-debit your bank account every month making repayments easy.

  • What is NACH?

  • Will you send me EMI reminders?

    Yes, we will communicate a reminder to you through SMS and email 2-3 days before the payment due date, so that you can ensure sufficient funds are in your account.

  • Where can I see my payment due date?

    Your loan agreement (communicated to you via email) will carry all essential details including your payment due date, based on the EMI plan opted by you.

  • What happens if I don't pay my EMI on time?

    Its very important to pay your EMI on time in order to avoid late payment charges, maintain a good credit rating and avoid any legal action.
    Please maintain adequate balance in your account around the repayment dates. If you know you won't be able to make the payment, please call our helpline immediately and we will try to help.

    NOTE- Not paying your EMI on time could result in you getting reported to a credit bureau, as per RBI regulations.

  • I do not agree with the amount on my EMI. What should I do?

    You can double-check the terms with the loan agreement that we have sent you and call our customer support number at 022-39966400 or email us at help@zestmoney.in, so we can rectify it in accordance with any required changes.

  • Are there any penalties for paying off my ZestMoney EMI early?

    No. You can repay all or some of your outstanding balance at any time without penalty. The amount you repay will depend on the date of the month. Please call our helpline at 022-39966400, and we will help you sort it out.

  • Can I change my repayment date?

    Yes. You can change your repayment date, as long as you give us sufficient notice. Please call our helpline at 022-39966400 and we will try to help you. Service charges may apply.

  • Can I change my EMI Plan?

    You can increase the EMI tenure but can’t decrease it. However, you can pre-close (i.e. repay early) your EMI account at anytime, without any additional charges.
